Burnside Park

Yesterday we enjoyed a fantastic day at Burnside Park.  The weather came to the party and we set off on our big walk to the park.  Once we were there we had a Nature Scavenger Hunt.  Miss Browne was really proud of the way we worked together with a buddy and completed both sides of the challenge.  We found rocks, leaves, pine cones, wild flowers, bark, pieces of litter, sticks, 2 leaf clovers, green grass, feathers and berries.  These were not easy to find and the feathers and berries were particularly difficult until we remembered to look up!  Then we found a cute wee bird and some red berries hanging from the trees.  We also found things that we could touch, some shapes and things with different colours.  The second part of the challenge was to find something that started with each letter of the alphabet.  We had to be a little creative and use some adjectives to describe what we could see!  After our lunch we had some rotations.  We started with playing Rob the Nest with Miss Browne.  Mrs Carswell played non stop cricket with us before we had some time on the playground with Mrs Johnstone.  Then we had some relays with Mrs Tyrrell before playing with some bubbles with Miss Playle.  It was great fun!
A big thank you to the mums that walked down with us!  It was a long way back but we made it in the heat!
