Assembly

Leasa presented our drink bottles today at assembly.  We won the drink bottles for the whole school.  Thank you to Leasa from Tupperware for our cool drink bottles.  After assembly we delivered the rest of the drink bottles to the whole school.  All the drink bottles are the same great blue colour.  Room 10 gave us a pakipaki for winning them drink bottles.  We felt important standing up at assembly and delivering our drink bottles.

The last two weeks in Room 2

Although we haven't blogged, we have been very busy!
Here are some highlights of the things we have enjoyed learning about in the last two weeks.

We went to Riccarton Bush.  We learnt not to pick leaves off the trees because the trees might die.  We learnt that there are lots of leaves that we can pick up from the ground.  Some of us saw a piwakawaka.

We went to the Museum.  We learnt about spiders and honey bees.  Girl bees are hard workers.  Boy bees are lazy.  Girl bees kick boy bees out of the hives.

We have been learning to do leap frog in fitness time.  We have learnt to leave spaces so that the next person has space to jump into.  This keeps us safe.  We have also been learning how to work together in a group to move our leap frog line back to the classroom.

We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.  It was tricky to stick all the bits on the page.    Some of us found it difficult because we had to work together in a group.  We only had one part of the life cycle to make and we had to sort out with each other who was doing which part.  We have also been learning to be good speakers and have videoed ourselves talking about the life cycle.

We have been learning to show respect at Discovery Time.  We have to work together.  We have to greet others, include others, ask to join in and use a quiet voice to show respect to each other.  We have been having fun making caterpillars, chicks, cards, using the laptops and using the blocks and the bugs in the tray outside.

We have also made chocolate Easter Eggs.  We melted the chocolate and put them into special moulds. When they had set, we pushed them out and joined 2 together with chocolate to make one whole Easter Egg.  We wrapped them in foil and took them home to enjoy.  They were yummy!

We have had a busy time in Room 2 and are now getting ready for the Cross Country.  Phew, it is a long way, running twice around the field to practice but we are sure it will be fun. :-)
